This smoked mackerel pate recipe is one of my all time favourite go-to recipes because it is just so amazingly quick to make and is versatile enough to be a lunch, a starter or a side dish!
High protein, high in omega-3 fatty acids and low in carbohydrates.

Ingredients
- 2-3 smoked mackerel fillets
- 100g cream cheese
- 100g creme fraiche or greek yoghurt
- 1 tsp freshly grated horseradish or 1-2 tsp horseradish sauce
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp fresh coriander or parsley. chopped finely
- black pepper
How to Make Your Smoked Mackerel Pate
Skin the mackerel fillets.
Place the mackerel, cream cheese, creme fraiche and horseradish into a large dish and stir with a fork, breaking up the mackerel with the fork.
Add the lemon juice, pepper and coriander/parsley and stir through.
Delicious with vegetable sticks, on oatcakes or on rye bread toast.
